OK, so this whole blogging thing.....hmmm. interesting.....It feels a little narcissistic to have a blog, after all who really cares about what I have to say. Im just some guy with not a lot to say. Here goes though.
So last night, while working in the shop I keep hearing this little rumble around the buckets I have under one of the shelving units. I had to go over to turn the radio off so I could figure out exactly what I was hearing. When I did I was better able to tell where it was coming from so I pulled one of buckets out of its nested place and what do I see? two of the smallest and cutest little mice that got themselves stuck in the bottom. This is a 5 gallon orange paint bucket BTW. One I could see but two? What happened? one mouse falls in and yells to his friend in a desperate way "HEY PAL! come help me out....SHIT!!" and then he falls in too? Really I have no idea but all I know is I pulled the bucket out, saw them and said, "what are you two doing!?" "why are you in the bucket?"....no, if youre wondering they didnt answer. If they did this blog would have started off WAY different. Anyways, back to the mice. I took them inside because I had to share with Bronwen. Now I dont know what it says but she was reluctant to look inside the bucket. She was a little freaked out by what I MIGHT have in there. She was delighted though as I knew she would be. She is a sucker for small furry animals. She was barely able to resist the urge to hug them, squeeze them and call them George. She did however go get them some food which we watched them run around in circles eating for a bit. All the while the cats were circling like sharks probably wanting to "cuddle" with the mice as well. I finally took them back outside and let them go into one of the flower beds so the owl I kept hearing screeching in the night wouldnt have too easy of a meal. I am sure I will see them again.
Often times in the night when I am out in the garage I will see a little shadow run across the room. Dillon told me one night that I have "mouse problems", I told "no I dont" he argued "dude, you totally have mice!" I returned with, " I know that, but I dont have a problem with them. They are like my little friends that keep me company out here when I am working late at night."
When I turned the radio back on after my mouse hunt, I heard this really great mix. I had some electronica station on because the Howard Stern show was a little stale for me at that point. I dont like when they are on vacation and play reruns of the show. All this week they will be playing some old shows, so who know what other tunes Ill get turned on to in their absence. Anyways, I heard this DJ called Specimen A and the track was called "just a DJ" Im not sure what genre of electronica it is but it is really great. A little dark, heavy and groovy as all hell. I immediately went into the house to purchase it from i-tunes. here is a link, you should really check it out
Anyways, thats it for my first blog. See you next time!
